Once a private game reserve of the royal House of Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the world’s best known wilderness areas. Located 14 kilometres from Sawai Madhopur and at the junction of some of the geologically oldest mountain ranges – the Aravallis and Vindyas – Ranthambore offers some of the finest opportunities for sighting the magnificent tiger in the wild. Ranthambhore Fort :-
Ranthambore Fort is nestled deep inside the Ranthambore National Park. The National Park consists of an area which used to be hunting grounds of the erstwhile kings of Jaipur. Standing atop a hill of 700 ft, the fort is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under “Hill Forts of Rajasthan”. Among the most popular attractions in Ranthambore, the intimidating fort has been pivotal in the history of the state of Rajasthan.

National Park :-
Spread in an area of 392 sq. Km, the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve is one of the largest and famed tiger reserves in the country, famous for the magnificent Bengal Tiger found there. The Ranthambore Tiger Reserve derives its name from the Ranthambore Fort located in the region. Situated in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, it forms a part of Project Tiger reserves, by the Government of India, set up in 1955. Ancient religious ruins found within the forest, surrounded by the rich biodiversity and aesthetically crumbling cenotaphs make Ranthambore Tiger Reserve a favourite spot for photographers, wildlife enthusiasts and travellers.

Trinetra Ganesh Temple :-
The Trinetra Ganesh Temple is situated inside the Ranthambore Fort, and is famous as one of the oldest temples in Rajasthan. It is the only temple in the entire world which houses the entire family of Lord Ganesha while his statue consists of three eyes.Also, people come here and make stone miniature houses near the temple, signifying a wish for a real house. 

Climate Of Ranthambhore 

Summer season starts during the end of March and remains until the month of June. During the summer season, the maximum day temperature remains around 46 degree Celsius whereas minimum night temperature remains around 30 degrees Celsius, and often hot and dry winds blow.
Monsoon begins in late or after June and remains until September. The Weather remains full of humidity and hot, and the rain is pounding once or twice in a week. During monsoons the area has thick forest with good grassland. The usual yearly rainfall is 800 mm in Ranthambhore and there is an average of 38 rainy days annually in Ranthambore and nearly 90 per cent of them are in the monsoon months.
The winter in Ranthambore lasts from November to February. In winter the night temperature stays below 10 ° C, whereas, the daytime temperature hovers around the 20 degree Celsius mark.

How To Reach

By Air: Jaipur is the nearest airport for Ranthambore National Park. The Park is located just 180 km away from Jaipur city. One can hire cabs or avail bus services to reach the park.

By Rail: The nearest major railway station is Sawai Madhopur which is well connected to other major cities across India. One can hire a cab or avail the frequent private/public bus services from Sawai Madhopur to reach Ranthambore National Park.

By Road: Ranthambore National Park is located just 11 km away from Sawai Madhopur and plenty of buses ply between Sawai Madhopur and the park. You can also hire cabs or taxis from Sawai Madhopur to reach your destination.
